Tricks to Source Items Then Sell Them Online

Source Products to Sell Online for Profit

Igo through my ecommerce selling in 5 main steps:

  1. Sourcing
  2. Listing
  3. Selling
  4. Shipping
  5. Post-sale Service (Customer Service)

Each step will have its own sub-steps (that’s a word I just created!). The first step is sourcing. Where to acquire your items depends on the niche you select. For example, if your niche is household items, I know a wholesaler that does drop shipping too.

Drop shipping is that you list the item the drop shipper has in stock and when you sold it you put an order with the drop shipper and they ship the item to your customer (so you don’t store the item). Anyway, the wholesaler/drop shipper is called Vista Wholesale. They carry a lot of different household items.

What if your niche is electronics like me? Well, there’s not a lot of wholesalers that sell brand name electronics at attractive prices to public (although I know one who does) but that’s not a problem. I always can find laptops and other electronics at good prices. In fact I can buy them at good prices as much as I have money to spend. When I stop is when I don’t have any more to spend!

One way to hunt iPods at great prices is watching ebay listings. What I do is I set up a search for buy it now iPod Touch listings then sort them by lowest price. Then I set my browser to refresh at, say, 40 seconds. That’s possible in FireFox or Chrome by extensions called ReloadEvery and Refresh Monkey, respectively.

This way I can find iPod Touch 32GB 4th generation brand new at $240ish. That’s good enough price to put it on ebay for $289 and it sells. Sometimes I even buy them at $250 because I get 2% ebay bucks. I remember there was an ebay bucks promotion when IE9 came out that put ebay bucks at 10%!! I also added extra 3% mrrebates.com cash back for 13% total savings! I bought a ton of iPod Touches.

ebay stopped all affiliate programs (they say they re-activate it soon) so cash backs are not available now but back then I was able to score lots of iPod Touches at delicious prices and make good money.

Another way is by using craigslist.com. This method requires more time and you spend gas to get to the seller but sometimes it’s worth it. One time I bought 3 iPod Touch 64GB at around $280. That was a fantastic deal. iPod Touch is my favorite Apple product and MP3 player. They sell like hot cakes.
I’ll talk more about sourcing later. Also, I reveal some fantastic ways to source electronics in my newsletter so please make sure to sign up.
